Lex Williford, a Texas native, holds an MFA from the University
of Arkansas. He is the 1994 Shane Stevens Fellow in Fiction at Bread
Loaf Writers¹ Conference and a recipient of a 1993 National Endowment
of the Arts fellowship and was also co-winner of the 1993 Iowa School
of Letters Award for short Fiction for his book, Macauley¹s Thumb.
His stories have appeared in many journals. He has received fellowships
from the Blue Mountain Center, the Djerassi Foundation, the MacDowell
Colony, the Millay Colony, the Virginia Center for the Arts, the Ragdale
Foundation, Villa Montalvo, and Yaddo. He is the co-editor of The
Scribner Anthology Of Contemporary Short Fiction, and teaches
in the MFA program in creative writing at the University of Texas
at El Paso. | |
